Kayla Jacobsen, MSW, LICSW

Hello and welcome! If you often feel deeply affected by the emotions of others, overwhelmed by life’s demands, or as though you’re carrying more than you can manage, these experiences can feel isolating, but with compassionate support, you don’t have to navigate what’s happening in your life alone.

As a relational and trauma-informed therapist, I work alongside individuals navigating anxiety, people-pleasing tendencies, relational trauma, and traits associated with being a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). Many highly sensitive individuals experience heightened empathy, deep emotional processing, and an increased awareness of their environment, which can lead to both unique strengths and challenges. Together, we’ll explore these aspects of your experiences in a safe and nurturing space, fostering resilience, self-acceptance, and growth.

My approach blends traditional talk therapy (top-down) and somatic/body-based (bottom-up) strategies. I draw from Somatic-Based Internal Family Systems (IFS/parts work), nervous system-focused approaches, and psychodynamic and attachment-based theories. This holistic framework helps us gently uncover the roots of emotional struggles, heal attachment wounds, and strengthen your ability to build meaningful and fulfilling connections—with yourself and others.

If you’re ready to embark on this journey of healing and self-discovery, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Together, we’ll create practical tools to support your nervous system, develop healthy boundaries, and cultivate a more grounded, connected, and fulfilling life.
